Plation products are designed to provide a simple solution to the problem of keeping water clean, fresh and safe at the point of use. They include, Plation Floats, Potable Water Filters and Harvested Rainwater Filtration.

Plation Floats

These are applied to purify and protect water against bacterial contamination, combatting microbial pollutants. To do so they use specially hardened ceramic balls coated in silver colloid. Silver ions (microscopic silver particles) are gradually released into the water and eliminate bacterial and other microbial pollutants.

Copper is also used in the WCF floats, which is particularly effective for harvested rainwater. Combined with the silver, copper provides an even more powerful antibacterial affect.

Plation Float Types

There are two float types - PNK and WCF floats

PNK are designed to provide an easy application in the fresh water tanks of boats, barges, caravans and motorhomes. The silver colloid coated spheres are enclosed in a plastic web bag along with polystyrene balls which give the float its bouyancy.

WCF floats differ in that the silver coated ceramic balls are encapsulated in a rigid plastic tube. Vents allow the water to flow through the pipe, slowly releasing the silver ions into the water. A chamber, at the top of the pipe, gives the float bouyancy.

WCF floats are specifically designed for use in larger water storage tanks, as used for rainwater harvesting. They can also provide protection in other types of domestic and agricultural water storage tanks to minimise the risk of bacterial infection.

Harvested Rainwater Filters

There are two rainwater filter options, the RainPC–ST and RainPC-MF, which are supplied as complete units and work as part of a domestic rainwater harvesting system.

The two systems differ slightly in technique and the speed at which they reach a level of purification to provide household and drinkable water.

The RainPC ST delivers household qulity water suitable for flushing, laundry and hygiene, whereas the RainPC MF turns rainwater into very high quality drinking water - for more information...

Water tanks and systems vary in size, type, age and condition and may, over time, build up biofilm surface coatings.
