Sailors,
at sea or on inland waterways, have always needed
fresh drinking water on board. Proper storage is essential
and modern techniques of stowage of potable water
solve the problems of leakage and thereby potential
contamination.
Stored water can quickly
turn stale
The dark damp recesses of
you water storage tank are an ideal environment for
bacterial growth. Refilling from a marina fresh water
tap may also introduce bacteria and other contaminants.
So regular cleaning and disinfection are an essential
maintenance chore.
Keeping
your water tank clean made easy
Plation makes it easier to
keep your fresh water tank clean and go on doing
so for up to two years*. You will no longer need
to chemically clean out and refill the tank on such
a regular basis. You need only top up the tank as
needed during that period.
Plation will go on bottle
quality, safe to drink for 2 up to years.
Plation floats come in various sizes to suit the size and volume of water being used on board.
Easy, straightforward installation
Installing
a Plation PNS is easy. First empty and clean the
freshwater tank as usual, making sure there are
chemical residues or sediment left behind.
PNS Floats
Insert
the PNS float into the tank via the inlet filler
hatch and secure by tying onto the tank’s
filler cap.
PM FLoats
If you have a tank with a wide access hatch you can use the PM float, which holds the silver colloidal balls in a plastic case. You may wish to tie this off on the hatch lid to ensure that you can retrieve and replace the filter easily.
It is that simple and straightforward. Click here for more information on installing Plation on board your boat or barge.
Bottled quality water for
up to years
You can leave the float safely
in place to do its work for up to 2 years*. Make
a note of the date of replacement.
Regular testing of the water
is recommended to ensure that it remains clean and
fresh. Click

*The normal working life of
a PNS, PM or PNK float is up to 2 years. However,
when used in heavily chlorinated water this may be
reduced to 12 months. You are advised to check the
float after 12 months and thereafter on a regular
basis. If the Plation float has turned black then
the silver has oxidised and is less affective and
you should therefore replace it immediately. |
