Installing
Plation Inline filters is relatively simple and straight
forward for a competent individual with the relevant
DIY skills. However, we would always advise you consult
a qualified plumber. We would also advise the renewal
or cleaning of any aging pipe systems or tanks, as they may have
built up a substantial bio-film coating.
Standard
Plumbing Fittings
Plation PIF filters have standard BSP female screw fittings and use mounting and fixing accessories which are easy to install.
The filter should be mounted after the pump installation, at the point of entry, or before the tap, at the point if use.
Brackets for each size of filter are available for wall mounting. These simply screw onto the wall or cupboard sides where there is sufficient space, and where it is easy to access for changing the cartridge. Additional Fittings Needed
Plumbing in the filter will require additional pipe fittings, including 2 shut off valves, which should be installed at the inlet and outlet side of the filter for easy cartridge replacement. For more detailed information you can download a Plation installation

Test Water Regularly
Regular testing
of the water is recommended to ensure that it remains
clean and fresh.
Note that Plation Floats and PIF filters are antibacterial but not intended for purification of heavily polluted water such as grey water or rainwater. Their effective use is aimed at maintaining and improving the quality of potable water supplies from storage tanks which are refilled from mains water supplies.
Keeping Freshwater Clean
Plation floats ensure drinking water purity, keeping stored drinking water fresh, clean and safe.
Tank sizes and systems vary. Make
sure you have the right size of filter to meet the quantities of fresh water needed. And for guidance on the right size of Plation float look at our tank size

The normal working life of a Plation PNS,
PM or PNK Float is up to 2 years. However, when used
in heavily chlorinated water this may be reduced to
12 months. You are advised to check the float after
12 months and thereafter on a regular basis. If the
silver coated balls have turned black, then the silver has
oxidised and wil be less affective. You should therefore
replace the float immediately. |
