Ultra Violet Purification

UV purification for example is a very powerful and effective germicidal process. Ultra violet radiation kills bacteria and viruses. But particles in the water may create a shadow, protecting bacteria and viruses from it radiation and UV does not leave any residual disinfection in water. It only treats water which is in, or passes through, the beam of UV light.

Plation purification can add to the powerful UV treatment process by introducing the added affect of a residual silver disinfection beyond the UV beam and into water when it passes through pipes and remains in store in a tank.

Filtration can also add to this cleaner, fresher water technique by extracting fine particles and any remaining bacteria.

Combining both UV, Plation Floats and Inline filters can provide added security with optimum purification by dealing with taste and odour, as well as extracting such chemicals as chlorine and flouride, against which UV has no affect .

Reverse Osmosis

This is also true for other water cleansing processes such as RO (Reverse Osmosis), where contaminated particles are separated by a filtration membrane.

An RO membrane filters out all soluble and insoluble compounds, as well as salts and thereby creating distilled water. Although RO filters take out almost everything, the membrane itself is vulnerable to biofouling and the filtered water, which is often stored, is vulnerable to bacterial infection.

Plation Filters, installed before the RO-membrane, optimise the purification process by eliminating contamination and slowing down biofouling. Plation Floats, installed in the storage tank (if present), also help to preserve water purity while it is in storage.
